Pop City benefit kickoff
This is the kickoff event for the Pop City t-shirt project benefit being given for our co-op. We are the second beneficiary in this year-long program. Funds earned are earmarked for outreach to low-income New Orleanians. We’ll be tabling to sign-up new members. Please join us. The tabling events are always a lot of fun– people are hungry for the hope our project inspires.

We’ll be tabling at the the Porch 7th Ward Cultural Organization and Original Big 7′s Second Annual Music Festival. The Festival will kick off at 11 AM in the backyard of the 7th Ward Neighborhood Center located at 1943 Pauger St. The Festival is a free fun family event with music, food, a resource fair, and kid’s activity area.
Members are encouraged to come by and help table this event.
Action Team meeting
The Action Team consists of 5 committees: Membership, Finance, Communication, Feasibility/Site Planning, and Hiring. We’re doing the detailed work of getting the store open. Please join us every other Wednesday from 7 to 9pm. LHA Community Center, 623 N. Rendon in Mid City. Look for the prayerflags. All are welcome to attend and participate.

Holy Cross Community Info Meeting and Potluck
Join us for this month’s community informational meeting and potluck dinner in the Holy Cross Neighborhood, at the Greater Little Zion Baptist Church, 5130 Chartres St., on Thursday, May 29, at 7pm.
This is your opportunity to learn about the New Orleans Food Co-op and our plans to open a grocery on St. Claude at St. Roch. Our potlucks are always a lot of fun and everyone is welcome– this event is free and open to the public. Member sign-ups are vitally important to our success, and we’ll be prepared to take your check if you find you are ready to commit. Bring a dish if you can, but it’s not necessary. Most important, bring yourself.
