The membership/outreach committee will meet on Saturday, March 1 at 4 p.m. at the Sound Cafe(corner of Chartres and Port).

The goal of this committee is to increase our membership and spread the word about the co-op. Some of the topics of this meeting will include distributing brochures, creating counter-top displays for businesses that will let us promote the co-op, planning a Spring fundraising/membership drive event, planning our next potluck, etc.

If you want to get involved and help out, please try to make it to this meeting.

A representative from the Food Coop 500 will be in town in early March to lead a business planning workshop. The Food Co-op 500 Program is a support system that seeks to enable a faster and more efficient start-up process to develop new retail grocery co-ops. These heavy hitters are getting behind our effort here in New Orleans.

Our board meetings are open to the public.

Our next board of directors meeting is Wednesday, Feb. 27th at 6:00p.m. in Mid-City at the Community Center,623 North Rendon St. This is a yellow building directly to the left of a raised house.

The Buying Club order pickup is Thursday, February 21st. This will be at our new storage space, 3219 Toulouse St. (mid-city) from 6:00 – 7:30PM.

IF YOU CAN NOT PICKUP YOUR GROCERIES DURING THE ABOVE SCHEDULED TIME, PLEASE GET SOMEONE TO PICK UP FOR YOU. YOUR ONLY ALTERNATE DATE IS THE DAY BEFORE AND YOU MUST BE A DIVVY VOLUNTEER TO PICK UP THEN.

The divvy will be the day before, Wednesday, Feb 20th, 6:00 – 7:30p.m. at our storage space, 3219 Toulouse in mid-city.

I need volunteers to help divide the delivery into individual orders and weigh bulk items. If you volunteer this month, you can take your order on the divvy night. Please contact me if you can help. Remember, each person needs to work one divvy every six months to maintain your login.

Hello Co-op friends!! This is your latest food co-op update. In
the last 6 days we have added two new founding members bringing our
total up to 97! We are so, so close to reaching our first milestone of
100 founding members. This is great, and we still need many more
members to reach our goal of having 300 members by May 1. So please,
please spread the word about your co-op and encourage everyone you
know to become a member. If you or anyone you know wants to become a

The next buying club order closes Sunday, Feb 10th at 7:00pm. So, as you are standing around waiting for a float to come, think about those grocery items you need, then when you get home, logon to coopshopper and add these items to your order.

The New Orleans Food Co-op membership is separate from membership in the Buying Club. Consider joining as a founding member of the Food Co-op today (if you are not a member). To build a retail store at St. Claude and St. Roch, we have to have 300 members by May 1, 2008. Currently we have 92 members. To join the co-op click here: join the NOFC.
